“Johanna’s Alternative Boot Camp” is a 6/12 week course to trim, tone, boost energy levels and develop healthier daily habits. It is all year round outdoor circuit training (held in Alexandra Park), and it has flourished since July 2008 benefiting around 90 participants, in the shine, wind, rain and snow. Johanna’s boot campers have found it welcoming, inclusive, sociable and fun, as well as exhilarating and effective. The age range so far has been 18-63 and the programme is adapted for all levels of skill and fitness. Throughout the courses, there is emphasis on improving your nutrition and activity levels on a daily and ongoing basis; as most boot campers aim to lose/shed weight and get fitter.

“Johanna’s Family Boot Camp” is for parent(s) and child/children to exercise, play and learn about health and fitness together. During school holidays only.

You can also arrange to meet Johanna on a one to one, or small group, basis for personal training. Johanna will assess your needs and wants and guide you through your own exercise programme as well as educate and mentor you towards developing more healthy habits on a daily and ongoing basis.

Many of Johanna’s clients are ante/pre or post natal and all of her clients benefit from Johanna’s knowledge, experience and passion regarding nutrition, injury rehabilitation, prehabilitation, self confidence/esteem and stress management. Johanna’s approach has been described as gently inspiring, assuring, friendly and patient, as well as focused.

Johanna has professional experience in the health and fitness industry since 1987, after completing a Sports Science BSc (Hons) Degree. In 1987 Johanna also qualified in Weight Training and Trampoline Coaching. Soon after, Johanna gained qualifications in community and workplace Health Promotion. In 1995 Johanna qualified as a PE Teacher (PGCE PE) and in 2000 was a Fitness Industry Training Tutor and Assessor for the Central YMCA also gaining qualifications in Ante and Post Natal exercise, Nutrition, Fitness Assessment, Gym Instructor, Circuit Trainer, Exercise and Mental Health. In 2007, Johanna qualified as a NLP (Neurolinguistic Programmer) Practitioner. Johanna also, to the present day, teaches Salsa dance to adults and Trampoline to children and Special Educational Needs.
